Ginger, turmeric, garlic flu shot is a different kind of shot than you are probably thinking about. It is fresh squeezed juice from spices that you drink, as needed. If you have a juicer, you can easily juice these ingredients in the comfort of your own kitchen when you feel like your immune system is weak.
The best part is that you can find these ingredients at your local grocery store or local farmers market. Ginger and turmeric are usually located together since they are both perennials, from the ginger family. The difference is that ginger has a light yellow color and turmeric has a bright orange color.
Benefits:
Spices in general are known for their aromatic and pungent flavor in food. Ginger, turmeric and garlic stand out to me because they add big flavor to all my home-cooked meals. Aside from cooking with them, these spices can also be used raw or juiced. Green Med Info website backs up these spices with research from Penn State University saying that not only they are anti-inflammatory, ginger soothes muscle pain, turmeric improves memory, and garlic decreases the risk of heart problems.
Ingredients:
- 1 thumb size ginger root
- 1 thumb size turmeric root
- 3 fresh garlic cloves
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper powder (optional)
- 2 organic oranges
